Batam Trip

Another Batam Trip. This is the third in half a year. Seriously, there is nothing much in Batam. But it’s the company that matters, right?!  It was a very impromptu trip as we were chatting suddenly we said “Lets go Batam!” Anyway, it was a last minute thing la, so the 4 of us went. Played my new fave game BANANAGRAMS many times during the trip! IT was fun! haha…SPA and Massage were super cheap too. We went for SPA/MASSAGE for 4 hours for only S$56!! Then knowing me, I went for Jet Ski as well.

Jiajia had a surprise when Bobby brought in the cake to the hotel room!! Haha …what else, otherwise, the trip was basically eating, eating and eating non stop. All of us gained about 2kg within 3 days!! WTF! hahah

Batam Getaway AGAIN!

Seems like we really enjoyed Batam, because we went there again after two weeks!

Haha, one of the main reasons we went there this time was because my group of 32 french guests were there. I wanted to go and take a look and also made sure that everything went well. And of course, we are just a bunch of people who really love to enjoy and relax!

So yup, Batam again! This time we didn’t stay in town. My guests were all at Batam View Resort. Batam View was really nice. We wanted to stay there too, but it was full for the weekend because of Hari Raya Holiday. Went to Turi Beach Resort. It was nice too. Batam View is more for people who want to have fun, lots of activities plus KTV and a pub, lounge. Turi Beach is really for relaxing as there is NOTHING except sea sports. But it has really nice view. The rooms were great too. Think it is more for couples. Anyway, this time we meant to go and have fun!

The first stop we went to is the BALONGLONG stop as my mum wanted to get her fave snacks! hahaha. Then we went for lunch at this indonesia restuarant which serve CHINESE food! haha…as least all of us thought that the dishes tasted CHINESE. After that, we went back to the hotel for check in. As usual with all my oversea trips, there were bound to be arguement with either the hotel or the airport. haha..And yes, we did that again! Shan’t not elaborate further :P but the result was expected :) We WON of course. HAhahaHAhaha! After that, we went for our massage at Sawadika. Was a great session. Plaza 100 was just beside and we went in and brought enough cheap food to open a mama-shop. hehe…Bobby brought us to a very nice place for dinner. I mean, its not nice, but the food was good! It’s called Windsor FoodCourt. It looked just like the food court in SuanLum Night Market in Bangkok. The food there was delicious and cheap! Check out the photos for the food! :) We went to explore Batam View for a couple of hours as well. There was a great magical show with FERI and then we also checked out the ESCAPE pub there.

2nd day we went for Jet Skiing after breakfast. It was so fun! DEng, Cam and me got onto one Jet Ski but as we didnt balance well, all of us fell into the sea! hahaha…it was a very funny sight. Mum said she screamed from her room’s balcony when she saw us falling into the sea.  And mind you, she was like a couple hundred metre away! hahaha It was deng’s first time on a Jet SKi. Sorry for scaring you! But she soon became expert! We had a great one hour! it was $100 per hour! Then we spent a very relax afternoon in the room, eating and playing cards. Went to Batam View at night to take a look at my groups’ BBQ dinner. The BBQ dinner was great too. IT was really a tiring day and all of us fell asleep almost immediately after cleaning up!

3th day was “unusual” for us! All of us woke up before 7am to get ready because we wanted to enjoy Jet Ski one more time before coming home. It was like sooooo unusual for us as we all love to sleep so much! hahaha…This time we were greedy! We hired TWO Jet SKI for TWO HOURS! IT was fantastic! hahaha. Even mum and dad went with us (I rode slower with them of course!). Mum and I were really really LUCKY as we saw THREE DOLPHINS right in front of our Jet Ski in the middle of the sea!! ADDED BONUS!!! Two hour flied and we rushed to wash up and check out of the hotel. Wanted to go for massage but ended up with not enough time, so we went for lunch at Nagoya Mall instead before coming home.

This trip was so fun and tiring. :) We were all burnt and aching all over. I am STILL having muscle ache and cannot move properly :P

GREAT TRIP!!

Back from Batam :)

Hey!

Batam trip is not as bad as I thought it will be! It is actually quite fun and interesting to me :) Hahaa

Here is my report :P Just a short one!

Woke up about 6am on Saturday, feeling excited! Although it is just Batam, we were all excited about the 2D1N weekend getaway! It is the company that matters actually! We were all going with our favourite people! :P

William came by to pick us up at 7am and after all those hi-ha-ho, we reached Batam at about 930am(Batam Time). Looking forward to my Soto Ayam, we made Indras took us to breakfast. He brought us to this local kopitiam. Food looked good and there were many different stores. I know this is ridiculous, but..hahaha…almost all of us ordered two orders of food. We had 7 adults and 2 childs(they had their own food). We ordered 6 bowls of Soto Ayam, 2 Laksa, 1 Lontong, 1 Prata, 1 Nasi Padang, 1 prawn noodle and 3-4 cups of coffee. Like a bunch of ‘yao-gui’!! hehehe

After finishing all the food, yes..we finished everything, we proceeded to drive around the island for some sightseeing. There wasn’t much to see, but it was really really much better than what I had expected. Batam in my memory is supposed to be like a small, dusty little village with nothing. So I was surprised by the buildings and malls. It was really NOT BAD at all! ANd there were a lot of toy stores ‘lurking’ around, all over the place! Naturally, Andre and Ashley were so happy. They got themselves 2 rocker toys and 2 hammer toys and 1 ball. Actually I have no idea what the toys called, just anyhow named them! :P

Then , we went to the Authentic Baker’s Centre. The moment  you stepped into the store, you will be memerised by the thick aroma of Kuey Lapis. We watched for a while how they baked the cake and then proceed to their little cafe to try out the cake. Man, we were really greedy! They served coffee/tea and kuey lapis there for free. Once again, we displayed our Singaporean Kiasuism and drink, hmm…let me count…12 cups of coffee/tea for us! hahaha …and two plates of kuey lapis..actually there was only one piece..hhaha..but we thick-skinned and got Indras to get us another plate! hahha…But not paiseh la, because we bought 3 big cake from them too! :)

After all those food, we couldn’t possibly eat lunch right? So yup, we skipped lunch and went to IndoThai for massage! We dropped off Honey and the kids at our hotel, Planet Holiday before that. The massage prices were really low as compared to Singapore! No wonder a lot of people come by for day trip frequently! All of us had full body massage for only S$20 per 90mins! That is like 30% of Singapore rate!! However the massages werent fantastic and I was aching all over at the end of the day!!! >_<

After that, we went to BCS (Batam City Square) for a tea since as skipped lunch. We stopped by Bakso, a local cafeteria for their food. It was really good food!~ We ordered 3 Bakso(Beefball + noodle soup), 1 catfish rice, 1 Nasi Goreng, 2 Mee Goreng, 1 dunno-what rice. We ordered a lot for TEABREAK right? hahaha Poor Deng didnt have any appetite so she did not order anything. However, under constant pressure and questioning from us, she decided to order a Nasi Goreng in order to shut our mouth! Things didnt turn out good for her though, because after she ordered her rice, she realised that we did have an extra rice. So that was too much food!

In the end, we tabao-ed the Nasi Goreng back to the hotel for Honey. Lazed around and played with the kids for about 1.5hr until DINNER TIME! So you see, Batam is all about FOOD and MASSAGE right? :P

Night time was really relaxing. We went to 933 for the seafood dinner. It wasnt fantastic but was ok. Ashley had a whole steamed crab by herself! Amazing! (It was really good) After dinner, we were too tired to go shopping so we ended the day and wen back to the hotel.

2nd Day morning was short as we need to get to the ferry terminal before 3pm. Had a long breakfast from 8am at the hotel. Planet holiday serves pretty good breakfast. Indras picked us at the lobby at 10am and we went to Nagoya Hill Mall for some last minute shopping. The mall is supposed to be the biggest mall in Batam, but it wasnt so big la! Hahaha, like what I said before, it was already good because I didnt expect to have mall like that in Batam! As we need to leave the mall by 12.15pm, we decided not to have lunch and just have some snacks at Coffee Town (Dad and Indras were chatting there while we shopped).  In the end, our snacks included coffee/tea for everyone, 2 Laksa, 1 KuayTiao, 1 Nasi Padang, and 1 curry rice! That is our idea of “don’t feel like eating!”!! hahhaha ..anyway, poor deng AGAIN! Her curry rice didnt come even after all of us finished our food! In the end, we found out that the waiter missed out that order. AWW…that was not all, he went in to re-order, coming out 5 minutes later telling her that it was not available! WTH! hahaha!! So yah, we ordered a peanut butter toast to make it up.
Really Poor DENG! Yesterday she didn’t want to eat and end up with 2 plates of rice. Today she wanted to eat but not available!! hahaha

Of course our program was followed by MASSAGE! AGAIN!! YEAH!! :P This time we went to SAWADIKA. Remember we were in Batam? We all didnt understand why all the massage palour we went to have Thai name..haha..anyway, this time the massages were fantastic. Initially we wanted to go for foot massages only. Cam realised in time that all the massage people were male.  Not a single female. Not wanting men to touch us, hahah, we opted for body massages again. Upstairs. The place was really big and nice. Parents on the left side (just beside only actually) and the 4 of us together. This massage session was really funny. Why?? Because Ashley was in there with us. She was really funny! She was learning to sing Cantonese song and keep disturbing us. She kept massaging us together with the massage ladies. Then she even asked the massage ladies to “do the same like her”…hahaha…anyway this time, the massage was REALLY GOOD!! We felt really good and comfortable this time. Think this Sawadika is much better than IndoThai! :P

We had to rush to the ferry terminal after massage and it was less than 30mins to the departure of our ferry! hehehe…had great fun!!!

think this entry is not so short after all? haha :)
